When News Anchors Meet Catholic Lingo

Or, When a Simple Mispronunciation Made My Day...

Hey Friend,

I just had to share this hilarious gem with you.

So, I was watching this news clip on YouTube about a group of nuns who got let go from their Novus Ordo convent by the local bishop. (Can you imagine?!)

Anyway, instead of just calling it quits, these ladies decided to keep their vows and switch over to the SSPX to continue their religious life.

Pretty bold, right?

So far, it was shaping up to be a serious story, and then the news anchor got to the part where she was supposed to say “Society of Saint Pius X.”

But instead of nailing it, she completely butchered it and said “Society of Saint Pee-Us X,” as in the letter X and not 10th!

Yes, Saint Pee Us X! 😂

She said it so seriously too—like she thought she was delivering a hard-hitting fact!

I’m sitting there like, “Wait… did that just happen?”

And then I rewound it to make sure I didn’t mishear.

Nope!

Society of Saint Pee-Us X.

I’m pretty sure anyone with a shred of Catholic knowledge would have caught that one, but I guess she missed the memo!

I mean, it’s not every day you see the Church accidentally rebranded into something that sounds like a bathroom break. 😆

Hope that gave you a good laugh!

We should catch up soon—I could use a little more “Saint Pee-Us” humor in my life.

Who knows what else is out there waiting for us to stumble across!

Take care and talk soon,

Melissa

P.S. Life has been insane crazy, but yesterday I finally got all that craziness for my classes caught up. Now on to getting my updated planners published on my shops. Keep an eye out for special discounts!!
