October Liturgical Highlights: Feasts and Traditions

Celebrating the Holy Rosary and Key Feast Days in Both Rites

At my parish I used to have a priest that sent something like this out every month so I didn’t have to plan as much as I should have. This priest was reassigned this summer and can no longer offer these emails. Thankfully I saved most of the months and am working on creating my own versions. If I missed anything or you think I should attach other links please let me know.

These will be set up with the feasts that are the same date on both the new and old calendars. Then I will add the feasts that are celebrated by each tradition. For example, the Feast of St Teresa of Avila is celebrated by both rites on Oct 15, so it is placed on the top list. But the Feast of St Therese of Lisieux is celebrated on different days, so under Novus Ordo you will see it listed on the 1st and under the TLM you will see it listed for the 3rd .

The Month of October is dedicated to the Holy Rosary.

Here are things of note for the month:

· Oct 31: All Hallows’ Eve

Novus Ordo (or new mass):

· Oct 22: Feast of Pope St John Paul II

Traditional Latin Mass (or TLM):

Here is a morning offering and prayers before and after Mass.

Please let me know if have missed anything, resources that you enjoy, questions, or concerns.
